How Long Does a Carpet Take To Dry After Professional Cleaning?

One of the most common questions we get is how long a carpet will take to dry after a professional clean — understandably, since you need to plan around it.
There’s no single fixed number
Drying time depends on several factors working together: the type and thickness of the carpet, how much moisture was used during cleaning, the room’s ventilation and airflow, and the general humidity and weather conditions at the time. Because of this, we can’t promise an exact number of hours that applies to every home.
What we do to help drying along

After extraction, a blower is used to improve airflow across the carpet, which helps speed up the drying process compared to leaving it to dry on its own. Opening windows or doors where possible, and improving airflow in the room generally, also helps.
What’s normal immediately after cleaning
Some moisture in the carpet straight after a clean is completely normal — this isn’t a sign anything has gone wrong. It simply means the extraction process has done its job of working cleaning solution into the fibres and then removed as much as practical.
Tips while your carpet dries
Avoid walking on damp carpet with shoes, and try to keep foot traffic light until the carpet feels dry to the touch. If you have pets, it’s worth keeping them off the carpet until it has dried.
